State Senator Andy Kerr Visits Fun City in Denver

Andy Kerr is a State Senator for SD 22 in Jefferson County, Colorado. On Wednesday, June 4, 2014, Senator Kerr visited several JeffCo area businesses as part of his south Jeffco business tour. Fun City was one of those businesses. Senator Kerr was given a tour of the facilities and met with the owner, Wayne Merritt.

Father's Day Freebies in Denver

This year, Father's Day falls on Sunday, June 15, 2014. If you live in the Denver area and are looking for a Father's Day freebie, then head over to Fun City in Littleton. All day, fathers bowl free! The only catch is fathers must be with their families. Just mention this post to get the deal!

National Hamburger Month and National Hamburger Day - Denver Freebies and Discounts

National Hamburger Month was created by White Castle, the first fast food hamburger chain in the United States. The chain is also the holiday's official sponsor, giving away food items throughout the month of May each year. This year, as part of White Castle Wednesdays, the chain has been giving away 100 dine in or drive thru customers a free food item at each of its locations every Wednesday throughout May when they say "Hash Tag My Crave."

Also in May is National Hamburger Day, which takes place on May 28, 2014, and includes freebies and discounts at different hamburger restaurants and chains throughout the United States. Places like Evos are offering buy one, get one free burger deals on May 28, while Miami Subs is offering an Angus Steakburger and fries for just $4.99.

In Denver, Fun City is celebrating National Hamburger Day by offering $1 off any hamburger, so head on over to Littleton on Wednesday for a day of bowling, miniature golf, laser tag and hamburgers!

Office Cats - Brightening Your Work Day

This week, an awesome story was released about a cat who saved her 4-year old human from a neighbor's dog. The dog appeared out of nowhere, attacking the little boy without warning and trying to drag him off. Tara the cat zoomed on the scene, chasing the dog off without 'batting' a tail. The little boy escaped with some bites to the leg, but was otherwise fine.

These heroics made me think about how, contrary to popular belief, cats can be just as loyal and protective of their peeps as dogs. Granted it does not happen as often, but when it does, it reminds us that there is a little bit of dog in every cat (and maybe a little bit of cat in every dog).

Although I do not have any pets at home, Fun City has a sweet and fun loving feline name Baby. She helps brighten most of our days, whether she is stealing water out of our cups or jumping up on the desks for some attention. If nothing else, this story of a protective cat makes me even more appreciative of having Baby around.

So, to all of you who have pets (or office animals) in your lives, give them a hug this week!

The month of May is designated National Bike Month, established in 1956 by the league of American Bicyclists. In addition to May being National Bike Month, it is also National Bike to Work Day on May 16 and National Bike to Work Week May 12-16.

Bowling for Animals - Animal Rescue Fundraiser in Denver

The date is approaching quickly, so don't miss out! Demi's Animal Rescue is hosting its annual Bowling for Animals fundraiser on May 15 from 6pm until 8pm at Fun City! Rent out a lane for $100 and support a good cause. Your $100 includes bowling for up to six people, shoes, a large pizza and a pitcher of soda. There will also be a silent auction. Some of the items available include signed sports memorabilia, tickets to the zoo, a guitar and gift baskets filled with gift certificates and more!

Golf Day in Denver - Celebrate at Fun City

New Arcade Game at Fun City

Denver's Fun City has a new game - a boxing game! Determine how strong you are and try to punch your way onto the "Wall-of-Fame!" Categories include the highest score for male and female 12 and under, 13-17 and 18 and older! Fun City will even take your photo so you can show off your strength to friends and family!

Bowling for Animals in Denver

Head over to Fun City in Littleton on Thursday, May 15, 2014, for the Demi’s Animal Rescue annual bowling fundraiser. The event will take place from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, and in addition to bowling will feature a silent auction with a variety of cool items being auctioned off. Businesses interested in donating something for the auction can contact Demi at demi@demisanimalrescue.com.

For the bowling portion of the fundraiser, the total cost is $100 for a team of up to six people. This breaks down to about $17 per person, and includes one lane of bowling, shoes, a large pizza and a pitcher of soda. Those interested in signing up for the event can do so by going directly to www.demisanimalrescue.com/donate and making an online donation. For additional payment options, Demi can be contacted directly by going to www.demisanimalrescue.com/contact. After making the payment, teams will need to e-mail Demi at demi@demisanimalrescue.com with their name and all of the team members so Demi can verify the payment has been received. St. Patrick's Day in Denver

Super Bowl Party in Denver

Fun City is hosting a Super Bowl Party on Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 3:00pm until 10:00pm. Join us for $2 domestic draft beers and $4 shot specials, as well as games and raffles. We will have a football toss for the children with candy as prizes and will present a Broncos football to the person in the best Broncos attire. Raffles will be held during the game for AFC Championship merchandise, Broncos hats, toys and Attraction Passes.
