National Catfish Day and Log Cabin Day in Denver

June 25 marks two unique holidays - National Catfish Day and Log Cabin Day.

National Catfish Day always falls on June 25, and is a day to celebrate the catfish. Whether you head on down to the lake to fish for some catfish or you decide to dine on the tasty fish, there are many ways to celebrate. For example, you can browse through online catfish recipes and cook up a tasty dish from home. Another option is to head to your local seafood restaurant, where many eateries serve up farm raised catfish. National Catfish Day was declared a national holiday on June 25, 1987, by President Ronald Reagan in recognition of the value of farm-raised catfish.

Log Cabin Day is a day set aside for promoting the preservation of log cabins, educating and creating awareness for the time in American history when log cabins were being built. The holiday was created in Michigan by the Log Cabin Society on June 25, 1986.
